Our trip to St. George/ Cedar City for Dance

We are Back From Competition!

We had so much fun at competition in Cedar City. Our first day, we spent the entire day in St. George. I saw my friend Kelsi and we went to Fiesta Fun. We had so much fun riding go-carts doing mini-golf etc. it was then time to head back to Cedar city to get ready for the big days ahead of us.
both girls did so good on their solos. They both won Queen and MaKayla got the highest overall score out of all the dancers. It was amazing. I was blown away at how good they have gotten. McKenzie has a sticky note on hers because they didn't order enough Queen labels for plaques, so they are mailing it to her. She blew her competition out of the water as well, getting a score 20 points higher .One girl had amazing tumbling in her act. We could not be more proud of them. We gave them new ipod shuffles for doing so well.
Then Saturday it was all about team dances. Every single one of the girls dances got first place. they do not do queens for teams. In fact the whole studio got all first places except for one second place on junior team.
I hope you enjoy the slide show of our trip.

Oh and of course I ignored my own advice hair tip #2 and the girls hair was completely green after swimming.. So todays tip HAIR TIP #3 How to get out your green hair. First use a good clarifiing shampoo. I like Paul Mitchell Shampoo 3. Then if this does not work, soak hair in lemon juice. This will almost every time get it mostly all out.

I just had to add these. my friend Kelsi has her own bow/clip business. They are all darling, her link is to the right. But these are a few of what the girls picked out. And they got a hanger to put them on too. They are great deals and she can custom make items. She doesn't have an inventory on her blog , just a few samples/headbands with inner changeable bows.but you can reach her. Her bows are in a store in St. george as well. the girls wore them clipped to there hairbands etc all weekend.

We decided to end spring break with something the girls really loved to do, So we took them to the MAYAN in Sandy Utah. Although Scott & I have always thought the dive show was lame, this year It was incredible. We really loved it and got our moneys worth. they have made some great improvements. We had a front row table which was nice. We all had a great time.

Our spring break started Monday. Since we are not going on a trip this week because of going to St. George next week for the girls dance competitions, I told them we would do something fun every day. I am still doing clients this week so we squeeze things in here and there. Day one consisted of: After my clients we went to the girls dance solo practice then grocery shopping. Something that usually takes an hour alone took 2 1/2 hours with the girls. Then it was off to Old Navy for some spring flip flops. Since it was such a nice day the girls played outside did some tumbling and ran through the sprinklers. Tuesday we have friends coming over. I'll post these pics later.

Spring has Sprung!!

It was such a beautiful weekend out. We were able to go walking, on a family bike ride and drive up the canyons. The girls were so excited it was nice, they wore their sunglasses the entire weekend. They even snuck their sunglasses to church in the purse. their primary teacher told me afterwards that they wore them inside all during church. I was upset but.. hey!! they got spring fever, just like the rest of us. On our drive we got to see a bunch of Deer. This made Scott happy seeing as how the deer hunt is right around the corner. We were afraid they all died this winter. I love spring and plan to be out in this weather all spring break. Or at least when I can.

Being pregnant, I havn't been able to find a breakfast that sits well. i love cold cereal but my body disposes of it quickly. I think I will have to start making a real breakfast. because if it is leaving me, then dang it ,I want it to taste good going down. So why not GERMAN PANCAKES?

German (puff) Pancakes
2 1/5 tbsp butter or margerine
3 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
Pre Heat oven to 450 degrees put butter in a 9 inch baking dish and place in oven.
Mix eggs till thick and lemon colored, add flour, milk and Salt and mix till combined.
Pour into melted butter in pan, bake for 15 mins. Serve with Fruit or just with syrup and powdered sugar.
YUMM!!

I thought the girls spring pictures turned out so cute. Check out their blogs to the right to see their individual pics. They are darling.

Tip: to do this hair just do a bunch of tiny rope braids on top of the head. To do a rope braid take one sections of hair divide it into two, twist them in opposite directions and then twist them together. It is so cute and a very popular style right now.

The girls have been bugging Scott & I to build a Volcano with them for a while, So last night it was a family activity. They did great! Here are the steps we used in case you want to build one at home. this is a real eay one to do.

1st- Tape or glue a water bottle to cardboard.

2nd-Take wads of paper (or we used plastic bags) and tape them around the water bottle in a mountain shape.

3rd- place a piece of alluminum foil over the top and form. poke a hole at the top of the water bottle.

4th- once it is covered with foil you can paint, spray paint or whatever to color your volcano. My girls used craft paint.

5th- Explode your volcano- Put in the water bottle 60 ml. water, a couple drops of dish soap, orange or red food coloring. ( My girls did pink!Girly volcano) Then add 1/4 cup vinegar. next take 2 tblsp. baking soda and put in a thin square tissue. When you are ready to erupt, place the baking soda in the top. ( We doubled this- because we had a large bottle)

Make sure you check out the girls blogs they will have an eruption video posted on theres.
